Same-day cerec crowns
A dental crown is a tooth-shaped "cap" that is placed over a tooth to the tooth and to restore its shape, size, strength, and improve its appearance. The crowns, when cemented into place, fully encase the entire visible portion of a tooth that lies at and above the gum line. But what makes this process uniquely superior is the use of Cerec® technology.

What is a Same-Day Cerec® Crown?
In years past, a chipped or missing tooth required multiple office visits to receive a traditional crown. The multi-step process involved messy impressions and uncomfortable temporaries. Crowns made in an off-site lab meant long wait times for those already suffering from aesthetic issues, difficulty chewing, and increased tooth sensitivity.
Through the technology advancement of Cerec®, we can design and fabricate a perfectly fitted crown in just one office visit. Same-Day Cerec® Crowns benefits include same-day treatment with no messy impressions along with a natural look and feel that is strong and durable.
Who needs a Same-Day Cerec® Crown?
A crown may be needed to protect a worn or weak tooth from decay, or a broken tooth from further breaking. Crowns can also cover a tooth with a large filling when there isn't much tooth left. Crowns can hold a dental bridge in place. They can cover severely discolored teeth or make cosmetic modification to the tooth. Crowns are also used to cover a dental implant. For children, a crown may be used on baby teeth in order to save a tooth that has been so damaged by decay that it can't support a filling. Crowns can also protect the teeth of a child at high risk for tooth decay, especially when a child has difficulty keeping up with daily oral hygiene.
How does a Cerec® Crown Work?
This is convenient, hassle-free option for those with a busy schedule wanting immediate treatment. Infinity Sedation has extensive experience performing CEREC dentistry and customizes your procedure from start to finish.
First, Dr. prouty uses a Cerec® Primescan wand to create a precise 3D image of your teeth. Then we carefully analyze that 3D impression in order to digitally design your custom crown. At that point, the custom design is digitally sent to our in-house and state-of-the art Infinity Laboratory in Watertown, South Dakota. Your custom crown is then fabricated by our milling units and returned to you all within one appointment.
